Underwear Survival Kit

  • February 24, 2010 at 5:09 pm

We’ve all read advice on clothes in magazines, where they tell us the essential clothing items to own, such as that LBD and the perfect pair of jeans. But what about your underwear draw, have you been neglecting it? Fear not, we have put together the essential underwear survival kit guide! Every girl should have the following underwear items available to them. Firstly, invest in a good supportive strapless gel bra with removable straps allowing it to double up as a multiway gel bra. A great little extra is a pair of clear straps that you can wear with your strapless bra which will give extra support without being visible. Secondly, invest in a comfortable, seam-free t-shirt bra, this is great for every day wear and will create smooth lines under any fabric. Thirdly, a more detailed bra, ideally as a matching set, for those times when you just want to feel glamorous.  Next on the list is a comfy pair of briefs or shorts, which are comfortable every day basics and it’s always a good idea to have a thong to avoid those VPL’s.  Remember, when it comes to colours, it’s always great to have fun with them, but we recommend to have the staple black, white and nude colours in your collections. These will ensure that you have the right underwear for whatever colour combination your outfit involves. With these essentials you’ll never be at a loss for the right gel filled underwear!

Gel Filled Bra – Gel Bras

  • February 18, 2010 at 10:03 pm

Gel filled bras are great for creating a fuller look, but they are not the only option to enhance your bust size. Silicone Enhancers do just what they say on the tin… they enhance and they are fast becoming every girl’s best friend!  Nick named the ‘chicken fillet’ because of their similar soft and malleable texture, they can be worn inside any bra to give that added boost. There are a variety of different types of enhancers to choose from, that range in size and shape. There are two factors to consider when choosing enhancers. Firstly, what size you are originally and secondly which size you would like to be There really is a set of enhancers for every girl.

Bra cup size

  • February 16, 2010 at 10:01 pm

So now you know your back size, you’re halfway there!  Let’s move on to the all-important cups. The under wires in a correctly fitting cup should lie flat against your ribcage, without digging in or leaving red marks. A sign of the cups being too big is if you find that no matter how much you adjust the shoulder straps you are still left with a gaping effect. If this problem sounds familiar, I would recommend trying a cup size smaller. You may be experiencing the opposite problem, in that your cups are too tight, and are not offering full coverage or a smooth shape under your clothes. If so, trying a cup size bigger would be the best solution. Hopefully, now you are well on your way to finding your correct bra size, the next step is to determine which shape and style of bra is best suited to you. Stay tuned!

Bra Fitting

  • February 3, 2010 at 8:19 pm

The prospect of a bra fitting can seem quite daunting at first, but there are a few simple tests that can help you determine whether you are wearing the correct size bra!  Let’s start with the back of your bra. You should always aim to start wearing a new bra on its loosest hooks as over time your bra will stretch a little and you then have the advantage of tightening the back, thus making it last longer! The back of your bra should sit level just below your shoulder blades. If it is riding up, this is a sign that you are wearing a back size too big. If however, you feel it digs in and you are left with red marks, you are wearing a back size too small. If you are going down a back size, you will then need to go up a cup size to accommodate, e.g if you are wearing a bra size 34A and it is too loose in the back then we would recommend trying a 32B. The same goes for increasing your back size, in this instance you will need to lower the cup size.  So give it a try girls, you’ll be amazed at the difference it can make, join us tomorrow for our next top tip!
