Looking after your Gel Bra

  • February 25, 2010 at 10:11 pm

We all know how great it feels to find the perfect underwear set, which is why it’s so disappointing when it eventually needs replacing and is demoted to ‘laundry day’ underwear. However, there are a few handy tips to getting the very best out of your underwear and making it last that little bit longer. It is inevitable, that over time, with constant wear your gel bra will begin to stretch. This can be avoided for longer if you ensure that when you first purchase your gel bra, it fits you perfectly on the loosest hook. This will allow you to tighten your gel bra one set of hooks at a time, thus making it last longer. It is recommended that all your delicates be hand washed, particularly if they are gel bras, as they are even more prone to becoming dented and misshapen in the washing machine. To avoid the fading of colour, ensure that your delicates are not exposed to direct sunlight and are left to air dry.

Padded Bras – An Explanation

  • February 19, 2010 at 10:06 pm

Bust boosting technology, so many choices, so little time. Don’t worry, we’re here to help! A lot of people get confused when it comes to the different types of padded bras on offer. There are three main types of gel bras to choose from: foam filled cups, liquid-gel filled cups and removable gel pouches. The benefits of foam filled cups are that they are very light weight and give a firm shelf at the base of the bra, which pushes your breasts up to create a fuller shape.  Liquid-gel filled cups are slightly heavier, but they are soft and more malleable, so the gel will mould itself to your natural shape. Finally, the removable gel pockets give versatility, in that the bra can be worn unpadded or padded to suit the occasion. They can also be removed allowing you to put your bra in the washing machine, rather than hand washing which is recommended for gel bras with non-removable gel. Each type has its benefits and it all comes down to personal preference.
